Pennsylvania's Cannabis Compliance Information

Pennsylvania has legalized the use of medical marijuana for certain medical conditions. In order to qualify for medical marijuana, patients must be diagnosed with one of the state-approved medical conditions and obtain a medical marijuana card from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and individuals must register with a state-approved dispensary.

The state also allows for the use of hemp-derived CBD oil for medical purposes, provided it meets certain requirements. Cannabis products are only available to those with a valid medical marijuana card, and the recreational use of cannabis is still illegal.

Pennsylvania's Licensing Information

With the selling and consumption of medical marijuana being legal in Pennsylvania, there are a few conditions to consider:

  • Medical cannabis is legal in Pennsylvania, with a doctor's recommendation and patients must be 18 years of age or older and must have a qualifying medical condition.
  • Patients must register with the state and obtain a medical cannabis ID card.
  • Possession of up to 30 grams of cannabis is legal for medical patients.
  • Home cultivation of cannabis is not allowed in Pennsylvania.
  • Cannabis products must be purchased from licensed dispensaries and there are restrictions on the types of cannabis products that are allowed.
