North Dakota has legalized the use of medical marijuana, but patients are not allowed to cultivate it at home. Individuals can purchase up to 7.5 ounces of cannabis from dispensaries every thirty days. However, North Dakota does not recognize out-of-state medical cannabis cards.

North Dakota's Licensing Information

With the selling and consumption of medical marijuana being legal in North Dakota, there are a few conditions to consider:

  • Must be 18 years or older to obtain medical cannabis and a North Dakota resident
  • Must have a qualifying medical condition and  obtain a written certification from a physician
  • Must register with the North Dakota Department of Health and obtain a medical cannabis card 
  • Must obtain medical cannabis from a licensed dispensary
  • Must comply with all state and local laws regarding medical cannabis
